We are pleased to confirm the signing of Lewis Reece who rejoins us from South Wales Ironmen.
Welsh international Reece, who can play in the second row or centre, joined the Ironmen at the end of last season but admitted the chance to return to the All Golds was an opportunity too good to turn down. He said: “I have so many good memories at the All Golds and I’m close to a lot of the players. I’m incredibly excited to return to the club and I can’t wait to get back in an All Golds’ jersey.
“It’s been a great season for the club so far, they’ve had some big wins. I want to be involved in those big games. The World Cup is in the Autumn and I want to be playing. In Lee, Anthony and Dan the All Golds have a great coaching team and I cannot wait to get started again.
“I just want to focus on improving myself and helping the team out. We’ve got a strong squad, I want to be involved in the 17. We’ve got some big games coming up so I’m looking forward to getting out there and doing my best.”
Reece was a prodigious youth talent and achieved international honours for Wales and Great Britain at under 18 level before he made his debut for his country at full international level in 2010, converting Gareth Thomas’ try against Italy. He had two successful years at the South Wales Scorpions and was their leading points scorer in consecutive seasons. He was a member of the All Golds inaugural Championship squad in the club’s first season in the professional ranks before he joined Toowoomba Clydesdales in Australia. After a year playing in the southern hemisphere he re-joined the All Golds at the start of the 2015 season and would go on to become a key player for the next two campaigns.
